7 March: Ps. Hock Lin, shared about the differences between a believer and a follower of Jesus. There are several indicators of whether we are a follower. Hock Lin focused on one of the indicators, which is taken from Matthew 4:19, 'Come, follow me' Jesus said 'and I will make you fishers of men'. The extent to which we relate with others the goodness of the Lord - is a good indicator of the degree to which we are a follower. Hock Lin also tied in the sharing to the vision of VIC, which is to be a home to the international community in Singapore.
- The Sermon and Service Opening are available for download.
21 February: Claudia Santos, shared from Romans 12:1-13 to illustrate the difference in emphasis that the world and the Word has on the way we live. The two emphasize on vastly different principles; for instance while the world encourages self indulgance, the Word taught self-denial (Luke 22:42). Consistently, a choice is required on our part to Leave the world to Live the Word daily.
- The Sermon (which includes the Communion) and Service Opening are available for download.
7 February: Ps Hock Lin, shared from Psalm 84 on 'a place call home'. While we live in houses, these may not necessarily be homes. A home is a place where we feel comfortable and be ourselves. As the Lord gives little creatures the ability to build homes (Psalm 84: 3), so we too have the ability to build homes for our love ones and those in the Lord's kingdom. Hock Lin also shared about his exciting experience playing soccer at the BBQ picnic @ Botanic Gardens yesterday.
- The Sermon is available for download.
31 January: Ps Hakan Gabrielsson, titled his sharing "The woman who changed her identity" based on Luke 7:36-50. Often, our self-perceived identities are shaped by the cultural norms, our family background, or what others think of us. These keep us from our potential and are contrary to our true identity - how God sees us (Romans 8:29-35). The prostitute in Luke lived under prejudice, bearing an identity as if she was separated from and not treasured by God. However, after having realized and established herself in the true identity that she was forgiven and loved by the Lord, she responded with gratitude that was misjudged by the legalists of that time. May we all grasp our true identity and welcome anyone who returns to the Father's house.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
24 January: Ps Hock Lin, shared about "The Compassion of Jesus" from John 4:1-42 on the encounter of the Samaritan woman with Jesus. A few key points: First, the Lord took the initiative to reach out. He asked for a drink, something not a Jew would do. Second, He spoke to her with no judgement. Jesus accepted her the way she was, not something the town might have done since she was living with a man who was not even her husband, which was culturally unacceptable at that time. Finally, Jesus spoke the truth in love - asking the woman to bring her husband. The Lord desires to deal not with the symptoms but with the roots of the issue. The woman probably thought her deepest need was relationship... Hock Lin encourages us to lay aside our desires for a season even though they may be good, to fix our eyes on Christ. Through this, the Lord do a work in our hearts.
- The Sermon, Testimonies, and VIC Vision (recapped) are available for download.
17 January: Rev. Irvin Rutherford, Executive Director of Global Ministry Teams, shared from Romans 8:28-29, titling his sharing: 'If not now, when?'. Most men live lives of desparation, going to graves with songs still in their hearts. If not now when will you sing your song? Song of destiny. After all that has been said and putting aside all things achieveable by men with good motives for Godly outcomes, the utimate destiny remains the quiet and intimate moments with our Lord Jesus.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
10 January: Ps Hock Lin, built on last week's teaching and titled this week's sermon 'He is able'. He taught from the book of Ephesians to remind us the importance of collectiveness. And it will be through the collective living and love that people will catch the glimpse of who God is.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
3 January: Ps. Hock Lin, titled his sermon 'Christ among you, the hope of glory' taken from Colossians 1: 24-27. The Lord desires to manifest in us and through us to touch lives. The glory that is revealed as a result will show who God really is. His greatness. His goodness. When Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine, the act (John 2:1-11) showed not only his greatness but more importantly his goodness - innate desire and compassion to do good unconditionally. Hock Lin ends by highlighting two applications; the collective living out, and the collective ministry. New Year Resolution: Ps Hock Lin felt the Lord dropped a word in his heart: "In 2010, things that are good for us, good for others, ask and the Lord will give."
- The Sermon, New Year Resolution, and Service Opening are available for download.
27 December: Ps. Hock Lin, recapped the past and new seasons of VIC. The message of Love from John 13:34-35 anchored the church in its first season. Hock Lin sensed the Lord bringing us into a new season of embracing discipleship, where love and unity among the brethens remain the foundation. The great commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the great commission (Matthew 28: 18-20) are tied together; both have to be embraced simultaneously since one can't possibly exist without the other if discipleship is to truly take place.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
20 December: Prof. Jay Taylor, shared from Colossians 3:5-14; challenging us to review the clothes in our wardrodes today. Things that are of earthly nature need to be decisively removed. The Lord who is love will not leave us nake. As we decide to put away our earthly nature, He will put on us things of the heaven.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
6 December: Mark Wallace, shared from Luke 2:1-20 on the birth of Jesus. He highlighted three groups that responded differently to His birth. The searching wise men who had some scriptural knowledge, the insecure King Herod and chief priests who were dismayed by the news of a coming King, and the humble shepherds who were of the lowest class in the Jewish society. The shepherds responded positively to the good news immediately. In reflection, how do we respond to the Lord and His message today? As the deer panteth for the water, so our souls should learn to long for thee.
- The Sermon and Service Opening are available for download.
29 November: Ps. Josue Santos, shared from the account of Joseph (Genesis 37-50) on how a land of protection and provision (Land of Goshen) can turn into one of captivity and slavery. What trigger the drastic change? (Exodus 1:6-8). Josue taught us to evaluate our Goshen(s), which can be our job, position, spouse, children, etc, to ensure what the Lord has intended as a blessing does not deceptively become a bondage. The 'spirit' of Joseph: the fear of the Lord and the ability to discern right from wrong is key to ensuring that our Goshen(s) continues to be a blessing as the Lord intends.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
22 November: Rebecca Ducatt, using the example of Jesus washing His disciples' feet, including those of Judas and Peter, she challenged us to genuinely love one another. Sharing from John 13, Rebecca illustrated the full extent of God's love, and that we are recognized as His followers only if we (first) love one another in the church. Using a personal story, she led us to receive Jesus's love so that we can love and completely forgive even those who have betrayed or hurt us.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
15 November: Ps Hock Lin, emphasized that God has instituted spiritual laws, just like He has created physical laws (e.g., law of gravity), to govern the universe and lives. Hock Lin shared on the spiritual law of sowing and reaping from Galatians 6:7-10. He pointed out three key principles. First, you will reap what you sow. Second, you do not reap immediately what you sow. There is always a time difference. Third, you will reap MORE than you sow! Finally, Hock Lin challenged us to always sow good seeds, which are the fruits of the Spirit as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23.
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
8 November: James Tan, experiencing the Lord's leading over the past few months, encouraged the congregation to be obedient to the gentle prompting of the Lord. James touched on three key points. First, the Lord uses ordinary people to do mighty things. Abraham and Peter, both started as ordinary men, were obedient and eventually greatly used by Him. Second, our God is personal. And our ministry to people should be one-to-one. Finally, James encouraged us not to be afriad of failure. If we do, stand up again and move forward as His mighty soldiers!
- The Sermon and Testimonies are available for download.
1 November: Ps. Ray Chee, pastors the Victory Family Church in Melbourne and titled his sermon 'discovering the IN-Visible God'. 27 September: Darrel Chong, shared from 2 Corinthians 4:7-8, underlining that we are all jars of clay, extremely fragile and brittle. But, the Lord still chooses to use these broken vessels. When He uses us, he looks not at our outward abilities but at our character, which requires seasons of molding. Often, necessary pain is part of the equation. And we shouldn't be surprise that it is since which hero of faith (Josepth, David, Peter) had not been through their seasons of refining and testing?

6 September: Ps. Hock Lin, on the 2nd message of Getting into heaven rich series, spoke about the discovery of the world's largest rough gem-diamond in 1905 -the cullican diamond (3,107 carats). In its rough form, it looks merely like an ordinary stone. Not worth a second glance. However, an expert will be able to tell the difference. Hock Lin encourages us to look at ourselves the way the Lord will, who is the expert in recognizing human's worth. We mustn't ignore our true worth and compromise for short term gains. Instead, we need to learn to live a life in response to the knowledge of our priceless worth.
